Open Government Partnership Global Summit

The objective of the session is learning from preliminary findings from 18 country case studies on how the OGP platform is being used to promote transparent, accountable and responsive governments. Part one should distill key observations from the country cases to come to an understanding of how well the OGP model is working in different contexts. The audience should come away with a good understanding of the cross-cutting findings emerging from these cases and the discussion should induce them to read further on the individual country cases. This will be a panel discussion with one researcher representing each of the above organizations, paired with a dynamic facilitator. The idea is to host a talk-show/debate style discussion where the facilitator poses challenging questions on the OGP model and for researchers to have an honest exchange on their findings. Part two will be a Q&A session from the audience. The goal is to do a targeted invite of key government officials, civil society members, academics, researchers, and journalists who are closely involved in OGP. In Part three, each organization displays a poster, showcasing key findings at the country level. These posters will have short, interesting snippets as answers which piques the audience’s interest. The audience is invited to walk around the room and learn more about specific countries that interest them from the researcher.
