Engaging Gender Perspective in OGP Commitments

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The session will explore the importance of and means to encourage meaningful OGP commitments for women. To date, there has been insufficient attention paid to engaging women in the process of developing national action plans and assuring that the OGP commitments being made are gender-sensitive and responsive to the needs of the whole community. The panelists will speak to the gender gaps in the creation of OGP commitments that advance women’s participation, access to information, and rights and that lead to better development outcomes. Following the framing of the issues, the discussion will be opened to all session participants to consider their perspectives on gender and OGP, their experiences as well as to develop consensus recommendations for concrete actions.
