Dhaniella Falk

Since January 2012, Ms. Falk has led Institute for War and Peace Reporting projects in Latin America. Prior to joining IWPR, she spent 13 years implementing various international development projects, in the areas of communications, human rights and civil society. She has broad experience and a proven track record in the management, and monitoring and evaluation of such projects. Her professional training was as a journalist and political scientist; she began her journalism career in 2001 producing high profile economic and political investigations on emerging economies in Latin America, Asia and Africa. In 2004, Ms. Falk moved into the non-profit sector, as the Director of OrphanAid Africa in Spain. During this time, she also earned a post-graduate diploma in Non-Profit Management from Spain’s prestigious business school ESADE. In 2008, Ms. Falk spent a year on the Thai-Burma border, managing a project for the protection of displaced women and children in the Karen refugee camps in collaboration with UNICEF and UNHCR. In 2009, Ms. Falk moved to Puente a la Salud Comunitaria, Mexico, working on agrarian and food rights issues and developing communications campaigns using social and local media in indigenous communities. She speaks fluent English, Spanish and French.
